I watched as many of the men attending the Dad 2.0 Summit had Original Butt Sketch artist Krandel Lee Newton sketch their butts. I was busy photographing the conference, and the lines were long, so I wasn’t going to take the time to have my own sketch done.
Then my friend Carrie told me that she and her husband John, one of the co-founders of the Dad 2.0 Summit, were going to have their butts sketched together. BRILLIANT idea. As the conference was coming to a close and I had photographed everything there was to photograph, I immediately sent Mike a text and told him to meet me to get our butts sketched together.
Yes, that is pretty high on my list of texts I never thought I’d send.
They called Krandel’s work caricature drawings, but I don’t know that I agree. Caricatures to me are normally something that I’m not attracted to. This? This is art. I can’t WAIT to hang it in our home.
PS – Krandel was at the conference with the Cottonelle team. Cottonelle makes my favorite toilet paper, and their little pocket packs of Cottonelle wipes saved me twice in the French Quarter when I encountered restaurant bathrooms without toilet paper. Honorary mention here to them for being one of my other favorite things!
