Get Inspired – Inspire Photo Retreat

Back in September, just before our big Vivid & Brave launch, Christine & I applied to speak at Inspire Photo Retreat 2014.

Inspire is a retreat style conference for photographers that will take this year in Sturbridge, Massachusetts at the beginning of February. We had heard so many great things over the years from friends who had spoken at or attended Inspire, and with the deadline looming, we submitted a proposal to join the amazing speaker line up.

I have to tell you something : speaking is a dream of mine, one I’ve held for a long time. So we sent in our proposal and then we continued doing the work of bringing Vivid & Brave to life. And one morning, we were paying for our breakfast at Denny’s and I was casually reading over my emails, and we got the email saying we’d been accepted.  I think I pushed her and screeched “We got it!”. I know I turned bright red and had a smile so big on my face it hurt – because Christine took my phone from my hand and took a photo of me, bad hair day and all. (that’s what friends are for!) Those dreams coming true moments are surreal and amazing.

And what we want for all of you.

So, we’re speaking at Inspire 2014. Our session is a half day workshop, where we’re going to do some self reflection,  take vulnerability, public declaration, and help you start planning a personal project speaks to your creativity and passion. We’re going to share and be open, and maybe challenge you to step outside the box a little bit.

Seven people got to preview this workshop in Houston a week and a half ago, and we’re so excited by how it went. They loved it and had great feedback for us. We can’t wait to do it again, and again and again!

Will you be joining us at Inspire? We’d love to meet you!

I’m the sort of girl who you meet for coffee and end up pouring your entire heart out to. The friend you come to when you need someone to call it straight. No bullshit. No extras. Just truth.

I’m a communicator. That’s a PC way of saying I like to talk, but I also spend a lot of my time listening, and over the years, I’ve developed a sense for subtext – how one or two words can change your entire message, what people are really trying to say and how to weave the varied layers of your story into one cohesive brand message that your clients fall in love with.

When I'm not acting as editor in chief for Vivid & Brave, you can find me geeking out over words here.
