Who Are You?

“Go inside and listen to your body, because your body will never lie to you. Your mind will play tricks, but the way you feel in your heart, in your guts, is the truth.”
— Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements

Can you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be? Are you still her? What is stirring deep inside you, longing for breath, for birth, for creation?

It has once tasted freedom but has been stifled and strangulated by should-ing, people pleasing, what if’s.

Who you should be is constantly fed by the ideas of modern life, where exhaustion is worn proudly like a badge of honor and withered spirits are filled temporarily with trips to Costco and new Louboutins. These material luxuries wear away quickly and your fragile, delicate self is left to seek cover again.

maybe
What if you did not seek cover, and instead let yourself shine and let the light into the darkest corners of your soul where the truth of who you are lives, the truth of who you were before the world told you who you should be?

What is she like, the woman you were before the world told you who you should be? The stirrings of fond memories, of explosive, unapologetic laughter and joy, now diminished.

It’s time to invite yourself back out to play.

To live.

To be. Your gift to the world is showing up as yourself as you were meant to be; beautiful, radiant, brilliant, You.

inner light
I bet your inner self is dying to emerge and fight against any more darkness. Every attempt to dampen her spark, her embers, is met with silent but present opposition and she lets you know. Her voice is growing louder and louder and you can’t ignore it anymore.

Here’s your next step:

Take yourself to the intersection of Fear and Bravery and keep your eyes open.

Wide open.

Feel the fear and do the opposite of what it is telling you.

When you feel hate, love.

When you feel closed off, expand.

When you hear lies, speak your truth.

When you want revenge, support another in need.

Stepping into your greatness is a bold and necessary task for life. Support is essential in moving forward in any part of your development. Embracing the inner you and letting her out to play will bring you enormous benefits.

Watch and see.
