Little Bunny Foo Foo, hopping through the forest. Scooping up the field mice, and bopping them on their head! Then down came the good fairy, and she said, “Little Bunny Foo Foo, I don’t want to see you scooping up the field mice and bopping them on their head! I’ll give you three more chances to be good!” But the very next day …
When I was probably 10 or 11 years old, for some random reason, my friends and I got a kick out of singing this song on the bus on the way to school. Complete with the hand gestures and everything. I remember someone telling me that it really annoyed them, so I made a point to sing it the whole bus ride. Over and over and over again.
As an adult, I want to kick 10-year-old-me’s ass for doing that. Right after I make myself apologize to everyone else that rode that bus with me.
The more I think about it, I seem to remember singing it in high school as well. With hand gestures, because it is never complete without the bunny doing the scooping motion. Maybe I should go on Facebook and publicly apologize for it.
Things you should know about me if we’re going to be BFFs? I know the lyrics to Little Bunny Foo Foo. I promise NOT to sing it to you on repeat. EVER.
Also? I laughed so hard when I saw this graphic that I was in tears. Real tears. Not just the figurative ones that everyone talks about when they say they laughed so hard they cried. I was actually crying.
(Graphic snagged from the How to be a Dad Facebook Page.)
Things You Should Know Thursdays was inspired by a Vivid & Brave journaling prompt – “Things you should know if we’re going to be BFFs”. If you share a thing I should know about you, be sure to come back here and leave a comment so I can link to you too! The hashtag for social media is #TYSKT.

Karen & Pearl I have a feeling I maybe even did this in high school, so if I did? I’m SORRY. Publicly apologizing. 😀
I was little bunny foo foo in my pre k play. I love it. I would have sang along and annoyed everyone with you.
Laura Corley Burlton, I knew I always liked you for a reason. Maybe we should sing it at Sadie someday? Pass it on? 😉
Yus!
Or at some random inappropriate time to Maddie would also work, but I think she is used to our antics.
Yeah. Maddie is almost immune.
Almost…. *evil, maniacal laugh!*
Girl, I put this on my Elmo before class started one day and the kids had NO IDEA what this was! I had to teach it to them, which is good since I am a teacher, but really, what are they learning in the elementary buildings?
woman!!! we are soul sisters! i posted this the other day because i used to sing it (still do) all the time! i have one girlfriend that still asks me to sing it. i noticed a few
moments later you posted it too! Its so cool to have such an oddity of a (dark & demented) song in common.
That’s my EXACT favorite song to aggravate the crap out of my kids!! I love the Little Bunny Foo Foo song!! I will sing it with you on repeat whenever you like. And skip around like we’re 10.
Simone Bello Guillory, I was trying to remember where I first found it – maybe it was on your FB wall? I was in tears, laughing SO hard, I couldn’t read anymore. It just … oh goodness … it gets me every time!
Karen Marcotte children are the future. I’m so glad you made sure they knew this song! (Now I just hope they don’t use it against you someday!)
It’s what I do. 😉
oh, i hated that song…..
When my kids were little, I’d put them in a bubble bath and we would sing this song. When we’d scoop up the field mice, we’d get a great big pile of bubbles on our fist, and “bop” them on the head really hard and send bubbles flying everywhere! My son loved the song so much, that when his sister came along he insisted we do the same with her. She wasn’t as big a fan of making the bubbles fly everywhere, though. But we still love the song!
My college roommate freshman year would sing this song
