Book Worms Unite! | Vivid & Brave’s Summer Reading List

Remember back  in March when I confessed to you that I’m not so good about reading books all the way to the end? I’m hoping to change that. Are you ready for the Vivid & Brave Summer Reading List?

Vivid & Brave's Summer Reading List

Vivid & Brave’s Summer Reading List

July 1st – Carry On, Warrior: The Power of Embracing Your Messy, Beautiful Life ” Her writing invites us to believe in ourselves, to be brave and kind, to let go of the idea of perfection, and to stop making motherhood, marriage, and friendship harder by pretending they’re not hard.”

July 15th – Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook: How to Tell Your Story in a Noisy Social World “Vaynerchuk shows that while communication is still key, context matters more than ever. It’s not just about developing high-quality content, but developing high-quality content perfectly adapted to specific social media platforms and mobile devices—content tailor-made for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, and Tumblr.”

July 29th – The Rise: Creativity, the Gift of Failure, and the Search for Mastery “The Rise explores the inestimable value of often ignored ideas—the power of surrender for fortitude, the criticality of play for innovation, the propulsion of the near win on the road to mastery, and the importance of grit and creative practice. ”

August 12th – Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar ” Rich with humor, insight, compassion—and absolute honesty—this book is a balm for everything life throws our way.”

August 26th – Die Empty: Unleash Your Best Work Every Day “Here’s the hard truth: sooner or later all of our tomorrows will run out, so how we choose to spend today is significant. Each day that we postpone difficult tasks and succumb to the clutter that chokes creativity, discipline, and innovation results in a net deficit to the world, our organizations, and ourselves.”

At the end of each book we’ll chat about it on the Vivid & Brave Facebook page.  I’ve chosen a couple of inspirational books, and a couple of business books, and one that’s at least a little bit of both. I’m SO excited for this! Who’s in?

Stephanie Ostermann

I’m the sort of girl who you meet for coffee and end up pouring your entire heart out to. The friend you come to when you need someone to call it straight. No bullshit. No extras. Just truth.

I’m a communicator. That’s a PC way of saying I like to talk, but I also spend a lot of my time listening, and over the years, I’ve developed a sense for subtext – how one or two words can change your entire message, what people are really trying to say and how to weave the varied layers of your story into one cohesive brand message that your clients fall in love with.

When I'm not acting as editor in chief for Vivid & Brave, you can find me geeking out over words here.
